Bruce Banner
Requested by mouseonmydoorframe
Personality Type: INTP
Dominate Function: Introverted Thinking
Bruce Banner tends to keep to himself, even before his accident. He is exceptionally introspective, and uses his time alone to formulate an internal construct of rules and paradigms to organize his ideas. He engineers things in his head, looking for the best and most efficient course of action before presenting as though it is a concrete fact. When he presents his procedure for hunting down the tesseract to fury, he had already engineered and simulated the plan in his head. Unlike Tony, who starts poking all the buttons at the SHEILD base looking for answers, Bruce harbors his reservations about SHEILD’s trustworthiness, building his own internal theories until they are pried out of him.

Auxiliary Function: Extroverted Intuition
Banner has the ability to see a lot of possibilities. He looks for different solutions, and looks at the big picture. He looks to the outside world for inspiration and the ability to come up with new ideas. He is always worried about what kind of destruction he might cause, seeing an unlimited potential, and working his way from one anxious thought to another. Bruce is also a wry observer, making witty remarks about what is going on around him. He tries to avoid drawing conclusions and making distinct choices, preferring to leave that to the other members of the Avengers, and instead taking a ‘live and let live’ stance.

Tertiary Function: Introverted Sensing
Bruce gets his data about the world from his memory and experience. His memories of leaving destruction in his wake as the Hulk haunt him, and make him even more fearful of “the other guy”. Instead of enjoying or even accepting the times when he is in full control, he lives under the shadow of the Hulk. Bruce also describes being the Hulk, who does act completely in the moment as “a nerve. Completely exposed." It suggests that Bruce has a difficult time being present and in the moment, unable to use memories to absorb the world through internal filters.

Inferior Function: Extroverted Feeling
This is Bruce’s least developed function, but an important one. He has a tendency to want to be polite and appropriate, although his objective nature and biting wit don’t always line up with these instincts. Bruce tries to avoid conflict, not just to hide from the Hulk, but he doesn’t want to offend or upset people and knowing well that his internal anger could end an argument badly. The Hulk becomes a manifestation of his internal anger, and as Bruce develops his extroverted feeling side he learns to control 'the other guy’. Bruce does want to try and help people, but out of wanting to be normal, or at least make up for his above-average destruction with above-average heroism. Banner even tried to kill himself if it would take the Hulk with him, just so he would not accidentally disrupt the lives of innocent people again.

Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw
It was Bruce’s insatiable curiosity that led him to get dosed with Gamma radiation and become the Hulk in the first place. Of course, Bruce is always trying to do best by people, he tends not to act on principals, and does not have much taste for other people’s staunch principals either. Although he feels like he has a duty to atone for his destruction, Bruce is a curious scientist at heart. He enjoys making discoveries, and searching for the truth, which is why he helps Tony dig up dirt on SHIELD. Banner even scares Natasha, just as an experiment to find out the truth behind her agenda. With a strong conscious, but an even stronger curiosity, Banner would be sorted into Ravenclaw.
